Should any Customer nevertheless deliver any such goods to the Company, or cause the Company to handle or deal with any such goods, otherwise than under such prior agreement, the Company shall have no liability whatsoever for or in connection with the goods, howsoever arising.

CIFFA Section 5
The Customer must give instructions in writing to the Company a reasonable time before the tender of goods for storage or transport where it requests the Company to:
(f) arrange for the transport of goods of unusual high value, luxury goods, currency, negotiable Instruments or securities of any kind, precious metals or stones; antiques or art; human remains, livestock or plants, or any other comparable cargos.

FIATA Model Rules Section 8.1.
Exclusions
The Freight Forwarder shall in no event be liable for: 1. Valuables or Dangerous Goods unless declared to the Freight Forwarder at the time of the conclusion of the contract,. . .

Peter Jones' Commentary:

The object of this clause is to see that any out of routine transaction is "flagged" before the forwarder makes firm arrangement for the transport. If that is not done, there is a risk that carriers and other third parties will not be alerted to the circumstance that the goods require special handling. This risk is high where the transport involves luxury goods, such as watches, electronics or liquours, or high-demand consumer goods such as cigarettes or tobacco.

See also CIFFA 2005 Clause 5 (f) that requires instructions in writing a reasonable time before the tender goods for transport that are of unusual high value, luxury goods.
